Zieglerography is a procedure developed by Walter Ziegler in the early 20th century and updated by Concepción Sáez del Álamo. It consists of making several plates using the soft varnish technique and stamping them in superimposed layers of different colors. For the design of The Court of the Lions at Alhambra Palace, I paid tribute to the Nabis, the vanguardist post-impressionist art movement of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. For me, it was a matter of reinterpreting the well-known snapshot and playing with perspective, color, and the rules of composition, letting the viewer’s imagination unfetter.
